(Training of Japanese glider pilots)

Shoko, Olga and Dima glide at Fuji, December 1, 2007

We all are good while sleeping:

Preparation: Dima searches the Fuji san at the map. Olga wonders if theese rugs fly. Shoko has no doubts and prepares her camera.

Dima is setting up. Olga learns.

Demo flight. Then Olga tries to do the same. However, the pilot is not supposed to sit down before to get several meters of altitude.

Dima helps Olga to stabilize the canopy; Olga still tries to seat as she does in the cabin of her airplane, but finally she takes-off

and does well:

Then Olga flew several times, going farther and farther:

Shoko is already novice pilot; she handles the canopy by herself:

Shoko keeps her hands up in order to advance forward.

Shoko's flight was longest and largest among ours.

Olga learns to fly and to land softly, putting well the canopy:

The wind at Gotenba become bad, and we moved to Myouyama. The wind was crossed and not good for students, but still launchable:

Dima feals discomfort and lands as soon as he can.

Here, there are no pics of traffic on the way back home, but you may believe, it was heavy.
