Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM), Chinese Academy of Sciences, appointed Prof. Ken-ichi Ueda as the Honorary Professor of SIOM.

Prof. Ueda gave a special lecture at SIOM entitled "My 40-years Challenge to High Power Lasers, Past, Today, and Tomorrow", that was recognized by the audiences as the "Final Lecture in China".
After that, SIOM Director Prof. Ruxin Li presented him the Letter of Appointment on the Honorary Professor.
Prof. Li recognized Prof. Ueda's accomplishments not only in laser science but scientific collaborations/exchanges between China and Japan and continuous encouragements/educations to young researchers in China.
